Making meals, pizzas and desserts is a family endeavor at Andy’s Place Pizza & Wing House.
The year-old establishment, at 925 Snow Hill Road, is owned by brothers Eddie Fantis, Andy Fantis and Jason Tringas, all Salisbury residents who, combined, have more than 65 years of restaurant experience.
There’s a spinach pie on the menu made from a recipe handed down from generation to generation and cheesecakes baked from scratch, with apples or Oreos, among ingredients. One is decorated with kiwi and other fruit by Andy Fantis.
“We cook our own turkey breast and slice it. All our burgers are hand-patted. Our French fries are hand-cut. Everything is homemade and fresh,” Eddie Fantis said.
Andy’s Place opened June 15, 2013, with the three men from Brooklyn working together closely.
The most popular topping for their medium-crust pizza is pepperoni, but the selection also includes sausage, onions, green peppers, bacon, jalapeno peppers and black olives.
Gluten-free crust and pasta are on the menu and burgers can be wrapped in a lettuce leaf instead of placed on a bun, if the customer prefers.
“We have $5 burger nights on Wednesday nights and kids eat free on Monday nights,” Eddie Fantis said.
The 20 wings for $11 deal features a variety of sauces like crazy hot, mild, hot, barbecue, Old Bay, honey garlic and oreganato.
“We love what we do,” Eddie Fantis said. “I’ve been working in restaurants since I was a kid. We have real turkey breast. We have brisket. It’s smoked and it’s very popular,” he said.
His brother Andy said pasta sauces are made fresh, to order.
“We are very friendly to anybody who has allergies. We’ll make you whatever you want. We will accommodate you,” Eddie Fantis said.
Seafood lovers can hook fish and chips, as well as crab cakes, tuna steak, fried shrimp and a clam basket. Among soups are cream of crab, Maryland crab, chicken rice and vegetable beef.
There are lunch and dinner specials every day and an $8.99 pizza, soup and salad buffet daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Andy’s Place is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
