Hertrich enters Salisbury market with Buick/GMC purchase

The Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships is expanding its presence on the Delmarva Peninsula with the acquisition of a new dealership, Hertrich Buick GMC of Salisbury.

Hertrich Buick GMC of Salisbury, previously Price Buick GMC, is located on North Salisbury Boulevard and is the Hertrich organization’s first venture in the Salisbury community.

“We are ecstatic to announce our newest dealership, Hertrich Buick GMC of Salisbury,” said Fred Hertrich IV. “We are looking forward to this opportunity to serve the Salisbury community and are excited to welcome new team members to our family. With Executive Manager David Wackett at the reins, we have the right leadership to continue to grow the dealership and expand our presence on Delmarva.”

Though this is the first Hertrich dealership in Salisbury, David Wackett is no stranger to community.  In fact, he has spent most of his life in the area.

“I am excited to come back and work with the community I grew up in,” said Wackett.  “I am excited to not only grow the store and the company, but the community around us.  There are a lot of great people here that we are excited to be able to serve.”

Having Wackett at the helm brings extensive experience to the Salisbury dealership.  Wackett has been in the automotive industry for 12 years and 11 of them have been with the Hertrich family.

“The Hertrich Family is a great organization to work for,” says Wackett.  “Their mission is to attract and advance the most impactful individuals in the retail automobile industry.  I am proof that they really do care about their employees and work to train and advance them through the company.”

Wackett started with the company in 2005 at Frederick Ford in Seaford, where he was a sales representative for five years.  He then became the commercial truck manager for a year before becoming a sales manager.  In 2014, he became the General Manager of Hertrich Buick GMC of Seaford.  Now he moves to his latest endeavor, introducing Hertrich Buick GMC of Salisbury in to the Hertrich Family.

“Dave has grown quickly in our company because of his sincere desire to serve our customers,” said Hertrich. “We are excited to watch him continue his success with the Salisbury team.”

Moving forward, Wackett and Hertrich have high expectations for the new Buick GMC location. They are excited to work with the dealership and the community to cultivate new relationships, grow, and bring the world class experience Hertrich is known for to the Salisbury area.

“We have a massive combined inventory that is different than anything on the Eastern Shore. We have three Buick GMC stores within 40 minutes of each other, so that instantly triples our selection.  For used cars, if you lined up all of our inventory across the brand, you would have cars for miles and we have access to all of that,” said Wackett.

“Customers can expect to receive world class customer service from Dave and the team every time they walk in our dealership.  That is what we expect from ourselves and that is what we want our customers to expect from us,” said Hertrich. “We care about the people we serve and the community we live in and we are excited to now have a dealership in Salisbury.”

From the first location to the latest, the new Hertrich Buick GMC of Salisbury brings the company full circle.  The first Hertrich location, established in 1963, was Hertrich Pontiac Buick in Blades, now known as Hertrich Buick GMC of Seaford.  Opening the third Buick GMC dealership shows the company’s expertise with the brand and signifies the company’s growth through the years.  The Hertrich Family now has 18 dealerships, 33 franchises and three collision centers throughout Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and Colorado and represents a complete line of multi-franchise sales, service, parts, accessories, and collision centers.
