Salisbury Chamber earns top ‘business friendly’ rating

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce was saluted as Maryland’s second-most Small Business Friendly Chamber at the 31st annual Maryland Small Business Week Awards luncheon last week.

Maryland Small Business Awards launched their annual “Chamber Challenge” in March to determine Maryland’s Top 3 Most Small Business Friendly Chambers.

Candidates were voted for by their members in an online poll. This was the SACC’s first year participating.

Pikesville Chamber of Commerce won 1st place for the third year in a row, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce placed second; Talbot County Chamber of Commerce came in third.

“Our Chamber membership is made up of nearly 68 percent small businesses,” SACC President & CEO Ernie Colburn said. “We’re humbled by the huge response our member businesses showed by participating in online voting.

“It also speaks volumes that our Chamber is very active and relevant in our key categories of taking care of our Membership, Advocacy and Government Relations, Community Outreach, and Business & Economic Development divisions,” he said.
