Body found in Salisbury lake; murder charges filed

Two men have been charged with first-degree murder after a woman’s body was discovered Sunday in Johnson Lake.

The Wicomico Sheriff’s Office said Marquez Labrante Armstrong, 23, and Corey Jamar Jones, 18, were each charged in the death of Trisha Lyn Parker of Wyman Drive in Salisbury.

Parker’s body was discovered by City Police near Lakeside Drive.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division assumed the investigation, with the assistance of the Salisbury Police.

Detectives said that Armstrong, who had been dating Parker for a few months, confessed that he choked and punched the woman. Detectives said Armstrong also led them to a trash bin, where they found Parker’s clothing, and to the van which was used to transport the victim’s body to Johnson Lake.

Detectives said the van had been set ablaze, using gasoline as an accelerant. Armstrong, detectives said, told them that Jones assisted him with the disposal of Parker’s body and burning the van.

Detectives said Jones told them the attack on Parker occurred at her home on Wyman Drive.

Both Armstrong and Jones were being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
