Man is arrested in videotaped tools theft

A 58-year-old Fruitland man was arrested and charged with theft scheme of more than $1,000 and three counts of theft under $1,000, then released on $20,000 bail, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert William Holt was charged in the 31000 block of Winterplace Parkway Aug. 26 after a deputy investigated the theft of two weed trimmers and a blower from a landscaping trailer parked at a business in the 31000 block of Winterplace Parkway, deputies said.

Deputies said the theft was captured on surveillance video, and the next day a vehicle and  the suspect matching the description of the accused were stopped by a deputy on Route 13 northbound.

The deputy concluded somebody stole the tools and arrested Holt, deputies said.

City police issue shoplifting report

In an attempt to reduce shoplifting incidents, the Salisbury Police Department released the following arrests, from Aug. 25 to Sept. 1.

Isaac Sidney Stanley, 54, of Salisbury; Carrie Ann Davis, 34, of Laurel; Kenneth Edgar Webb, 26, of Greenwood; Devin Scott Collins, 19, of Laurel; Brandie Joe Lemaster, 18, of Crisfield; juvenile male of Frankford; Scott Alan Mitchell, 21, of Ocean View; Julia Marie White, 43, of Salisbury; Brittney Marie Bishop, 23, of Delmar, Del.; and Seth David Nicholson, 24, of Salisbury.

Man held on probation violation

A 26-year-old Delmar man, charged with violation of probation, was in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $20,000 bond, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Dwight Lamont Shivers Jr. was charged Aug. 23 on East Walnut Street in Delmar, deputies said.

He was arrested on a warrant after he violated terms of his probation, following a conviction of a second-degree assault case, deputies said.

Bail set at $50,000 for drug case violation

A 19-year-old Delmar charged with violation of probation was in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $50,000 bail, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

John Mark Jones Jr. was charged Aug. 25 on an outstanding District Court bench warrant issued after Jones violated the terms of his probation following a conviction in a controlled dangerous substance case, deputies said.

Delaware man held on fugitive charges

A 53-year-old Seaford man was charged with being a fugitive from Delaware, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said John Bryand Waryasz was arrested Aug. 26 in Salisbury.

They said authorities in Delaware wanted Waryasz on an arrest warrant that charged him with failing to register as a sex offender. Waryasz was held without bail pending extradition back to Delaware, deputies said.
