Second day added to weekly Wicomico Covid-19 testing

TidalHealth has partnered with the Wicomico County Health Department to expand Covid-19 drive-through testing beginning this Tuesday.

The public may call 410-912-6889 to set up an appointment for a Covid-19 test on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The testing will be held at the Health Department’s Fritz Building at 300 West Carroll St. in Salisbury.

No doctor’s referral is needed, but an appointment is required.

“We know community testing is critical to reducing transmission for Covid,”said Kathryn Fiddler, TidalHealth Vice President of Population Health.

“TidalHealth is committed to supporting our public health partners through programs like this to increase access to community-based testing. It takes a community, working together, to beat this pandemic,” she said.

“Expanded testing was identified as a need in our community, which has resulted in this partnership,” said Lori Brewster, Health Officer for Wicomico and Somerset counties.

TidalHealth encourages community members who need tests to take advantage of this service and ensure the Emergency Department is used for emergencies only.

The Wicomico County Health Department will also continue its Wednesday testing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fritz Building on Carroll Street.
