Photo Gallery: Read Across America 2019

On Saturday at the Wicomico Public Library in Downtown Salisbury, more than two dozen children participated in the Salisbury Jaycees’ annual Read Across America event.

Children had the opportunity to interact with the Cat in the Hat, Sherman the Shorebird, Buffalo Wild Wings mascot Jester and Saul the Salisbury Jaycees bear during the Salisbury Jaycees’ 12th annual event, celebrating the anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ birth.

Local guests read from their favorite Dr. Seuss books. This year’s readers included Salisbury Fire Department Assistant Chief Rob Frampton, Cpl. Mike Loring of the Salisbury Police Department and WBOC News anchor Kimberly Wiggins.

The event also featured free books from the Eastern Shore Reading Association and a door prize drawing for Dr. Seuss character stuffed animals and items donated by the Delmarva Shorebirds and Buffalo Wild Wings.
