Peninsula Regional Medical Center and its Peninsula Regional Medical Group will open the Peninsula Regional Family Medicine Salisbury office on May 4.

The new practice will be located on the lower level of the H. Gray Reeves Medical Building, directly across from PRMC, at 145 East Carroll St.

An open house to introduce the staff and providers to Salisbury and to give the public an opportunity to stop by and tour the practice has been scheduled for Thursday, April 30 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Peninsula Regional Family Medicine Salisbury, offering complete family medicine services, will be staffed by Nicole Alu, DO and Tammy Cahall-Walbert, FNP-BC.  The practice is now accepting patients of all ages.

Dr. Alu specializes in family medicine and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

She received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia and completed both an internship and a residency at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, N.Y.

Dr. Alu has been practicing family medicine since 1996.

Cahall-Walbert, a Nurse Practitioner certified in family medicine, received her Master of Science in Nursing as part of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Wilmington University in 2003.  She’s a Sussex County native with over 25 years of nursing experience.  She’s a member of the American Nurses’ Association, the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland and the Maryland Nurses’ Association.  She has also been a member of PRMC’s Emergency/Trauma Team.

As the practice grows, PRMC plans to add additional providers to meet an increasing demand in the Salisbury area for primary care services.

The Peninsula Regional Family Medicine Salisbury office, the first primary care practice opened by PRMC in the city in over two decades, will also offer complete on-site laboratory and blood draw services for patients and walk-in’s.

“Having grown up with my father seeing patients in his office located in the front of our house, I have a great appreciation and admiration for primary care physicians,” said Thomas DeMarco, MD, Vice President of Peninsula Regional Medical Group.

“This office will be a source of great pride for PRMG and will provide much needed additional health care access to our community.”

Anyone interested in becoming a patient of the new Peninsula Regional Family Medicine Salisbury may call 410-912-5785 to schedule an appointment.   The office will be open Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
