Downtown Trolley service resumes for Fall 2015

Shore Transit 1

The Downtown Trolley is back in business for fall 2015.

The city of Salisbury, Shore Transit, and Salisbury University last week announced the return of the service. Available to Salisbury University students and community members for only $1 per boarding, the trolley connects Salisbury University and surrounding areas with Downtown Salisbury.

After a successful school year, the Downtown Trolley took a brief hiatus for Summer Break, but now makes its return with a few exciting changes.

Starting its loop in front of the Perdue School of Business, the Downtown Trolley will run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 p.m. until a little after 2:00 a.m. Fares will remain $1 per boarding.  A new stop has been added at Headquarters Live to showcase one of Downtown Salisbury’s newest attractions.

The Downtown Trolley will also commence service at earlier hours each 1st Saturday and 3rd Friday.

Look for service to run from 5 to 7:15 p.m. during these events, and then pick up again at 9 and run until 2 a.m.

This project is part of the efforts to link Salisbury University students with the businesses Downtown, and is funded by a $50,000 grant from the Maryland Transit Administration, and a $16,000 per-semester allotment from the city of Salisbury.
