Shorebirds are home for full-event weekend

Delmarva Shorebirds are home through the weekend, and are in the middle of a seven-game stretch at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

The Shorebirds conclude a three-game series against Lexington tonight at 7:05 p.m.

Greensboro arrives for four games on Friday night. Games scheduled on Friday, Saturday and Monday nights all begin at 7:05 p.m. Sunday’s game against the Bats will be played at 5:05 p.m.

Friday will feature a special postgame fireworks show. As they have all season, the Shorebirds will wear special throwback jerseys on Friday modeled after the ones worn in 1996 as a part of the team’s season-long 20th anniversary celebration.

Saturday night will feature Christmas music, in-game contests, and the Shorebirds will be wearing special Santa jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Shorebirds Community Fund.

Fans will also be able to support the Shorebirds Community Fund by purchasing grab bags on the main concourse. Prizes will include Shorebirds card sets, giveaway items, ticket vouchers and a grand prize of a sky suite to a 2016 Shorebirds home game.

Stick around after the game, as the night will conclude with a Q105 Fireworks Show presented by Wor-Wic Community College.

Fans will want to arrive early to Sunday’s game, as the first 1,000 people through the gates will receive a special All-Star Poster featuring South Atlantic League All-Star Game selections Conor Bierfeldt, Garrett Cortright, Jomar Reyes and Steve Wilkerson. The poster giveaway is presented by Delmarva Printing.

Sunday’s game will be a celebration of our young fans, as the Shorebirds will be holding Junior ‘Birds Kids Club Day presented by McDonald’s of the Eastern Shore. A number of special events for youngsters are planned. 15 lucky children in attendance will be taking home bikes as a part of the Seaford Moose Lodge’s annual bike giveaway.

The Shorebirds will continue the fight against hunger on the Peninsula by holding another Strike Out Hunger Sunday. Fans who bring two canned food items for donation to the Perdue Stadium box office will receive a $3 general admission ticket.

Finally, members of the Junior ‘Birds Kids Club will have the opportunity to run the bases following the game thanks to Chili’s Grill and Bar.

The homestand will conclude on a 47 ABC Two Buck Monday. Fans will be able to enjoy special $2 pricing on general admission tickets, Esskay hot dogs and 12-ounce Pepsi products. No coupon is required to take advantage of these deals.

Tickets for all remaining Shorebirds home games during the 2015 season are on sale now. They can be purchased in person at the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium Box Office, by phone at 410-219-3112 or online at theshorebirds.com.
