West Salisbury Junior League wins Eastern Regional, heading to Michigan for championship

West Salisbury Junior League All-Stars beat East Windsor PAL Little League of New Jersey in the 2016 Junior League Eastern Regional Tournament.

It took 12 long innings, but the West Salisbury team prevailed, 7-6.

The win makes West Salisbury the Junior League Eastern Regional Champions. The team now advances to tournament play in Taylor, Mich., where they will represent Maryland and the region in the Junior League All Stars.

The first game in Michigan is Sunday.

There will be a send-off for the All Stars on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at the West Salisbury Little League Ballpark on Pemberton Drive.
