Wicomico Recreation offering busy winter schedule

Wicomico Recreation & Parks’ winter schedule has programs for both children and adults of all ages. Find something to keep you active this December.

Registration for programs is available in-person during modified hours at the Wicomico Civic Center Box Office (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.) and online at WicomicoRecandParks.org. To stay up-to-date on our programs follow us on social media at @funwicomico.

Coed Volleyball

Get your friends together and enter your team in the Adult Coed Volleyball league. The season begins Dec. 17, and games will be played Thursday evenings in the Normandy Arena at the Wicomico Civic Center.

Players must be 15 or older. Registration is open through Dec. 7 and is $300 per team.

Next Step Fitness Program

The Next Step Fitness Program is a drop-in exercise program for individuals ages 50 and up. Two different hour-long classes are held at the Wicomico Civic Center on Mondays and Wednesdays during November and December. The daily drop-in fee is $3 per person.

A stretching class begins at 9 a.m., followed by the Enhance Fitness class at 10 a.m., which incorporates stretching, strength training, cardio and balance exercises.

Adult Drop-In Basketball

The adult drop-in basketball program is for participants 18 years and older. Drop-in games will be at the Wicomico Civic Center 6-8 a.m. on most Thursday mornings in December and January.

Kids Klub Learning Center

The Kids Klub Learning Center provides a childcare opportunity for Wicomico County Public School students grades 2-5. Participants will follow their personal virtual curriculums and complete their individual assignments under the supervision of certified staff.

In addition to school work, children will have time to play games and make crafts. The program runs Mon.-Fri. 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Wicomico Civic Center.

This program is only in operation while Wicomico County Public Schools are virtual. Registration occurs on a weekly basis. Program fees are $128 per week, per child. Space is extremely limited. Students should bring their own laptop, headphones and supplies needed for completing their assignments. Masks are required.

Multisport Indoor Court Rentals

The Wicomico Civic Center recently expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of four SnapSport flooring systems. SnapSport is a versatile, modular sports flooring system.

Rental opportunities are available for sports leagues, practices, clinics, instructional programs and training programs. COVID-19 precautions and guidelines are in place.
