7th Annual Preakness Palooza is Saturday at EVO

On Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and RPS ISG International, in partnership with United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, will host the ULTIMATE Preakness Party and viewing of the 143rd running of the Preakness Stakes at EVO Public House.  Proceeds from the Preakness Palooza will benefit the Imagination Library Free Book Program serving local children.

The cost of the event is $45 per person and includes a gourmet buffet, one hour of open bar and $10 worth of “betting” tickets to win epic prizes … in addition to surprise guests, tons of games, entertainment and viewing the iconic race on the big screen.

Guests are encouraged to dress festively for the event and prizes will be awarded for the most creative attire.

Founded locally by United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, the Imagination Library addresses the educational and developmental gap between low and middle income children, the literacy rate, and kindergarten readiness through a focus on reading, social and emotional development, and parental involvement. Upon registering with the Imagination Library, children ages birth to 5 receive one home-delivered book each month. The program is free of charge to all families enrolled and has proven results where children are more ready to learn and thrive upon entering kindergarten.  Since the program’s inception in 2012, United Way has distributed over 126,000 books to nearly 5,800 children in Worcester, Wicomico, Somerset, & Dorchester Counties.
