Coastal Hospice Kicks 4 Kids event is Saturday

Kicks 4 Kids, a family event sponsored by Coastal Hospice and featuring games and foods, will be at WinterPlace Park on Saturday.

Scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event costs $5.

Tickets can be purchased there, or online at coastalhospice.org/kicks.

Activities include a watermelon eating contest at noon, door prizes given away at 1 p.m. and a Smelly Sneaker Contest with celebrity judges at 2 p.m.

Children may participate in events including limbo, a sack race, three-legged race, egg relay, shoe distance kick, corn hole toss and football toss.

Shoes designed by local community members will be entered into a decorating contest and be available at a silent auction throughout the day.

Live music will be provided by students of the AMP Studio in Salisbury.

Kicks 4 Kids supports Coastal Kids Supportive Care, the pediatric program of Coastal Hospice that offers specialized medical attention to children with serious illness and provides relief of discomfort, symptoms and stress. The goal of care is to improve the quality of life for both the child and the family.

Founded in 1980, Coastal Hospice is a nonprofit health care organization that cares for individuals facing life-limiting conditions but who want to remain as active and engaged as possible.

Patients in Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester and Somerset counties are cared for at home, in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or at Coastal Hospice At The Lake.
