Ballet Theater will present ‘Alice in Wonderland’

Follow Alice down the rabbit hole into Wonderland in this delightfully entertaining adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic.

The Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Tweedledee and Tweedledum are among the cast of characters whose antics are sure to amuse parents and children alike.

Watch as Alice chases the White Rabbit, squeezing through a tiny door into a magical place where fish swim in a sea of her tears, she attends the Mad Hatter’s riotous tea party, and the queen plays an absurd game of croquet with flamingos and poor little hedgehogs.

There will be two performances, one on Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m. and a second on Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at the Wicomico High School Auditorium.

Talented dancers from our community will be showcased in this production by the Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre in its 27th season.

Graduating seniors Becky Maupin, Sarah Rathkamp, Elijah Kelley and Jennifer Ford will perform. The ballet is choreographed by artistic director Elena Manakhova-Amy, and the tap choreography by Christina Ennis. Music includes pieces by Camille Saint-Saens, Dmitry Shostakovich, Jacques Offenbach, Leo Delibes and others.

Tickets can be purchased online at ESBT.org, at the door, and also at Dancewear Etc., SWAC, and local branches of Bank of Delmarva.
