‘Name That Tune’ is theme for this week’s park concert

One of the many joys in attending a band concert on a Sunday evening in Salisbury’s City Park is that there will undoubtedly be a tune or two if not more that you, the listener recognizes.

At a minimum you might tap your feet, but concert-goers often begin humming or singing along.  For those in attendance at the last concert of the season for the Salisbury Community Band on Sunday, you’ll have ample opportunity to indulge in that joy as well as test your memory with a “Name That Tune” segment in the evening’s program.

Director Howard Snow closes out the 2015 season with other familiar selections including music from “Beauty and the Beast”, “Les Miserables”, and the ever-needed melody of “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”

The band will also swing with a medley of Big Band tunes and march the children through the park with the traditional “Military Escort March.”

This week’s concert begins at 7 p.m. at the City Park Bandstand.
