This 3rd Friday will be indoors — but will still be fun

This week’s 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury will be hosted indoors only — so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street.

But there will still be plenty to do and see.

So bundle up, grab your friends, and head out for a night on the town.

Salisbury Art Space will present Luminosity, a new exhibition that features local works inspired by light to warm our spirits during the short days of winter.

The show is open to submissions from Salisbury Art Space members and other area artists, and will include a reception.

The show will be judged by Salisbury University Professor of Painting, Jinchul Kim and includes a foyer gallery solo exhibition by Sequoia Chupek. Salisbury Art Space is located on the lower level of the Salisbury University building off the Plaza.

Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown is opening its first spring exhibition, titled “Habitat,” which will be open during 3rd Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Featuring the work of multiple artists, the exhibit explores the human habitat past, present and future through photography, installation, sculpture and new media.

Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown Campus is also located in the SU Building, just past Maya Bella’s Pizzeria.

Fenix Youth Project and Salisbury Poetry Week will be teaming up to identify Salisbury’s first Youth Poet Laureate next month, and in preparation the groups are offering a “Popping Sonnets Workshop” hosted by Salisbury’ inaugural Poet Laureate Nancy Mitchell in the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The program aims to identify young writers who are committed to civic and community engagement, poetry and performance, human relations, diversity and education across the City and is available to youth at no charge.

The Downtown bars and restaurants are ready with live music for 3rd Friday.

Pick up a FeBREWary game card, support Maryland craft beer and collect signatures during the month of February for a chance to win cool prizes.

Roadie Joe’s Bar and Grill will have amazing food specials, plus Smooth and Remy from 6 to 9 p.m. and The Joshes from 10 p.m. to close.

Brew River will be hosting Seinfeld-themed Trivia, Mojos will have DJ Vybe and Market Street will have Cup of Joe from 7 to 10 p.m. — and a DJ late night.

3rd Friday is a Downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District and the city of Salisbury. For More Information:
