Winter or not, it’s 3rd Friday in Downtown this week

This Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. Even in the winter months, without the artisans and crafters outside on the streets, there is still tons to do and see on 3rd Fridays.

Enjoy shopping, gallery-hopping, dining or enjoy the great live entertainment scheduled all over Downtown Salisbury.

3rd Friday is a shopper’s paradise, with the downtown shops and boutiques open late with special events and sales.

Piece by Piece by Laura Petrovich – Cheney is literally pieced together wooden debris left behind in the devastation of Hurricane Sandy; floorboards, window frames, pieces of cabinets. Inspired by the geometry of American quilts, she uses recurrent block patterns to explore ideas rooted in the repetition of life and celebrates putting one’s life back together, literally piece by piece.

Down on Poplar Hill Avenue, The Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council will celebrate 3rd Friday indoors by hosting Arts on SWAC Street | A 3rd Friday Arts Mini-Mall:  January Jam in its elevator-accessible loft space above Season’s Best Antiques from 5 to 8 p.m.

Join SWAC to enjoy food drink, kids crafts, and local artisans, crafters and more. Live entertainment from Ted Nichols & Drums Around the World, Hunter Wirt & The Mardela High School Band, and rock guitarists Alex and Dave Jester of the “Alex & Dad Duo”.

Headquarters Live welcomes award-winning, Grammy-nominated legends, Seldom Scene. The famous bluegrass ensemble will be joined by the Shore’s very own Saltwater Stringband for a night of top-notch, toe-tapping entertainment.
