86 percent of establishments pass alcohol check

Thirty-one out of 36 establishments checked Sept. 17 were found in compliance with alcohol sales rules, according to the Wicomico County Alcohol Task Force.

The routine compliance check, named “Operation Spot Check,” is the work of a Task Force comprised of the Wicomico County Liquor License Department, the Maryland State Police, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police Department, the Fruitland Police Department and the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The following establishments passed:

Market Street Inn.

Texas Road House.

Pitts Stop Beer & Wine.

Thirsty’s South.

Walston Switch Carry Out.

Fruitland Wine Rack.

Salisbury Quick Stop.


Plaza Tapatia.

Uno’s Chicago Grill.

Buffalo Wild Wings.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill.

Cactus Taverna.

Café Italiano.

Chili’s Grill & Bar.

The Greene Turtle.

Ledo’s Pizza, Nanticoke Road.

Longhorn Steakhouse.

Old West Steakhouse.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant.

Outback Steakhouse.

Plaza Tapatia.

Red Lobster.

Lombardi’s Tower Of Pizza.

The following establishments failed.

Fountains, 1800 Sweetbay Drive.

Quick Stop, 900 Snow Hill Road.

Hunan Palace, 1600 South Salisbury Blvd.

Sakura Japan, 811 South Salisbury Blvd.

Royal Farm Store, 901 Snow Hill Road.

Licensees for the establishment who failed will be summoned before the Board of License commissioners for a Show Cause hearing whereupon a fine or a suspension or both may be levied against their license.

The clerks who sold the alcohol will be charged by the officers of the Task Force.
